Riverside and Corona are in Riverside County, south of Rancho Cucamonga. If you live in either city and have a band that needs adjusting, a check, or a decision about removal or conversion, you can be seen at the Red Oak Street office of Davtyan Medical Weight Loss & Wellness. The trip is longer than from the cities next door, so plan ahead to get more from each visit.
Getting to Rancho Cucamonga from Riverside or Corona
From Riverside: the most direct route is the 60 (Pomona Freeway) west to Haven Avenue, then north on Haven, across the I-10, to Arrow Route. Red Oak Street is a short way east on Arrow. From Riverside City Hall on Main Street, the drive is about 19 miles.
From Corona: the I-15 runs north from Corona straight into Rancho Cucamonga. From Corona City Hall on South Vicentia Avenue, the trip is about 17 miles; from the freeway, Arrow Route leads west toward Red Oak Street.
Freeway traffic in both directions can vary a lot by time of day, so ask the office for an appointment that lets you travel outside the busiest hours.
Riverside and Corona in local data
The California Department of Finance estimates Riverside's population at 321,884 and Corona's at 159,309 on January 1, 2026. Riverside County as a whole, at 2,506,824, grew 0.36 percent in the past year.
In CDC PLACES model-based estimates for 2023, adult obesity was 36.7 percent in Riverside, 35.1 percent in Corona, and 36.8 percent for Riverside County. The same data put depression among adults at 22.7 percent in Riverside and 22.0 percent in Corona. Mood matters in band care: eating patterns, sleep, and stress can all change how the band feels. If you have been struggling, mention it at your visit; it is part of the medical picture, not a side issue.
Medi-Cal and Medi-Medi plans in Riverside County
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) lists Riverside County as a Two-Plan model county. For 2026, its table names Molina Healthcare of California, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), and Kaiser Permanente as the county's Medi-Cal managed care plans. For people with both Medicare and Medi-Cal, DHCS lists Molina Medicare Complete Care Plus, IEHP DualChoice, Kaiser Permanente Dual Complete, and SCAN Connections.
IEHP's Medi-Cal page describes its service area as Riverside and San Bernardino counties, so an IEHP member in Corona and one in Rancho Cucamonga belong to the same plan. The practice works with PPO and HMO plans that allow care with Dr. Davtyan. Networks and authorization rules still apply, and the office will check your coverage. Our guide to Medicare and Lap-Band care covers Medicare's national rules.
Making a longer trip count
Band care depends on steady follow-up, and the FDA patient guide calls long-term follow-up the key to success. When the drive is longer, a few habits help:
- Call before you come. Describe your symptoms on the phone so the visit can be planned around them. If an x-ray or test might be needed, ask whether it can be done the same day.
- Bring everything at once. Records, fill history, and medication list save a second trip.
- Plan the drive home after a fill. You will be asked to drink water before you leave. Bring water for the car and give yourself time to follow the eating plan for the rest of the day.
- For surgery days, arrange a driver and someone to stay with you after removal or conversion.
If you are unsure whether to keep, adjust, or remove your band, our decision guide can help you arrive with clear questions. Our page on Lap-Band removal explains that option.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth driving from Corona for a quick fill?
Often, yes, because a band that is too tight or too loose affects every meal. A fill itself is brief, but the visit is also a chance to check for a leak, a slip, or an enlarged pouch, which the FDA labeling says can look like a loose band. If you are coming a distance, ask the office whether a test can be scheduled the same day.
What is the most direct way from downtown Riverside?
The 60 west to Haven Avenue, then north on Haven to Arrow Route, is the most direct option, about 19 miles from Riverside City Hall. Haven Avenue crosses the I-10 on the way, which is the other freeway option. Check traffic before you leave, since both freeways can be slow at commute times.
Does IEHP cover Riverside County as well as San Bernardino County?
Yes. IEHP's Medi-Cal page lists its service area as Riverside and San Bernardino counties. That means members in Riverside and Corona are in the same plan as members in Rancho Cucamonga. Being in the plan is not the same as having a particular specialist approved, so check with IEHP and the office before your visit.
I have both Medicare and Medi-Cal and live in Riverside County. Which plans could I be in?
For 2026, DHCS lists four Medicare-Medi-Cal (Medi-Medi) plans in Riverside County: Molina Medicare Complete Care Plus, IEHP DualChoice, Kaiser Permanente Dual Complete, and SCAN Connections. You may also have Original Medicare with separate Medi-Cal. The name on your member card tells you which applies; have it ready when you call.
