Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Davtyan

Dear Dr. Davtyan,

In 1999 my life completely changed when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Pursuant to surgery, where 8 inches of my colon was removed, as well as, a lesion from my liver, my doctor informed me after only 1 month that a second surgery was necessary.

The news was traumatic and we agreed that a second opinion was in order, and that is how I had the great privilege of meeting you, Dr. Davtyan. You concurred that another surgery was unavoidable; however, I was not ready for that. I preceded with heavy chemotherapy treatments for 11 months, to no avail. You were right the second surgery was unavoidable. Even though we both knew that my chances of surviving this dreaded disease were slim, you never wavered.

Your confidence gave me confidence. Your knowledge and expertise in the field gave me strength and optimism. I truly believed that you would do anything within your power to try and save my life and with that, we went on the arduous journey of killing cancer before it could kill me.

You began surgery with fervor and successfully in the duration of 8 hours burned 5 tumors in my liver by radiofrequency ablation and inserted an intra-arterial hepatic pump, which would allow me the ability to receive chemotherapy more easily and directly into my liver. This was new technology at the time, but there was no hesitation on your part to use every possible avenue in helping me survive and heal.

Eight years later, I am still here and have an immense appreciation for life an optimistic outlook on the many more years I hope to enjoy with my family and friends. I am certain that when you see me in your office alive and well, you are proud that you are my doctor. There are not enough words to express the deep appreciation and well respect I have for you not only as my physician, but a caring and compassionate human being as well.
