When I came in for a consultation I felt super comfortable. Dr. Davtyan and his staff are all very nice and catered to my feelings, taking the time to really understand what I was going through. It was a very loving feeling coming into the office. I had a lot of issues before due to my weight. I had high cholesterol, it was hard to walk around, go up and down stairs, basically any kind of physical activity was difficult. My back would always hurt because of the excess weight I was carrying around. My goal was to lose at least 85 lbs and even though I only had the Lap Band procedure in February 2016, I’ve already lost 65 lbs. The procedure was very easy, I don’t even remember waking up, all of a sudden I was just at home. The surgery center he operates out of is very nice, clean and professional.
Since the procedure, it’s been really nice. I’ve noticed a world of difference. No one recognizes me. It’s been a really good experience for me. As sad as it is, everyone is a lot happier now that I am skinny. Of course guys notice me more now, which is nice. My high cholesterol went down to normal and the pain I used to feel just moving around went away. Overall I’m just happier and healthier. People notice that I’ve changed and can tell my attitude towards life is different. I go out a lot more and am not embarrassed to be myself.
Sometimes I still see myself as that 240 lb girl even though the scale tells me I’m not, but what really makes me realize I’ve changed is all the amazing comments on my appearance I get from other people. I used to have this box of clothes that I would buy that were too small for me, but I bought them anyway and told myself one day I would fit into them. 6 or 7 months after the procedure I took out that box and started trying it all on and EVERYTHING was TOO BIG for me! I had to get rid of it all because I had lost that much weight. That’s when everything really clicked and I realized how much I had changed.
I owe everything to Dr. Davtyan. He has been perfect through my whole journey and he is easily one of the nicest men I ever met in my life. He tells me how it is and is very straight to the point. He doesn’t mess around because he cares. He’s really the best of the best. If you want someone who is going to listen to what you want and give you the support you need, you should go see him. He’s not just pushing a procedure on you, he actually wants you to succeed and get to your goal and so does the entire staff. They are all really nice and call to check up on you. It’s like a little family.
