I always tried different diets and ended up gaining more weight than I started off with. I was having knee pains and really just wanted to do something once and for all. I was thinking of getting the bypass, was close to doing it, but last minute changed my mind and came here. Dr. Davtyan seemed very personable, I trusted his opinion and judgment. He told me the truth about everything.
The lap band procedure was easy. There were no problems, everything went well. Recovery was about a week. The first few days I had some gas and stuff like that but afterwards I felt like I was on the right track.
It was easy, but there is some difficulty to it at the same time. You have a habit of eating a certain way for a long part of your life and then you drastically change it in a short period of time. It was difficult, but I’m adjusting.
I lost 35 lbs so far and it’s only been about 3 months. I’m hoping to lose a total of 180 lbs. I feel good about my chances of getting there. The doctor is consistent and hands on with me. I feel he cares as much as I do.
My knee pain has pretty much gone away already and I feel I can move around easier, do chores easier. I woke up one day and I didn’t have knee pain anymore. I noticed going to the movies recently when I was going down stairs and it was fine.
The staff are all great, friendly and nice. Arsine cares just as much as the doctor does. She’s always making sure I’m on top of whatever it is I need to do stay on track to reach my goal.
One of the biggest things I like about the doctor is he’s so personal. I don’t even feel like he’s a doctor, but a friend. And the fact that he actually does care. Also the fact that he has had the lap band himself gives you confidence. It means he really believes in and trusts the system.
I think it’s absolutely worth it to at least come in for a consultation and get a feel for it, that’s how it was for me. I didn’t think I was gonna go through with it but once I met Dr. Davtyan everything seemed perfect
